Dr. Branka Zukić is a Full Research Professor at the Institute of Molecular Genetics and Genetic Engineering, University of Belgrade, and Head of the Group for Molecular Biomedicine. Her research focuses on personalized medicine, particularly the impact of pharmacogenetic variants on treatment outcomes in leukemia, inflammatory diseases, and COVID-19. She also leads genomic profiling studies in lung and liver cancers and works on identifying molecular markers for prognosis and treatment optimization in hematological malignancies. Her research integrates bioinformatics and machine learning for therapy monitoring and genetic test design. Dr. Zukić is the Principal Investigator of PharmGenHUB, an EU-funded project advancing pharmacogenomics in the Western Balkans. She is also active in molecular diagnostics of rare diseases in Serbia. Within the InnoThyroGen project, she coordinates Work Package 2, focused on designing the concept and infrastructure for a Regional Personalized Medicine Ecosystem.
