Dr. Biljana Stanković is an Associate Research Professor at the Institute of Molecular Genetics and Genetic Engineering, University of Belgrade. Her research focuses on the genetic and molecular mechanisms of complex diseases, especially inflammatory bowel diseases. She works on identifying biomarkers for disease susceptibility, progression, and therapy response, using whole genome data to predict outcomes for treatments like glucocorticoids, anti-TNF agents, and vedolizumab. Her expertise combines genomics, pharmacogenomics, biostatistics, and bioinformatics, applying genome-wide association studies and predictive modeling. Within the InnoThyroGen project, Dr. Stanković coordinates Work Package 4, dedicated to research and innovation pilot projects and the translation of findings into clinical practice.
