Prof. Tatijana Zemunik, MD, PhD

Prof. Tatijana Zemunik, MD, PhD, is a Full Professor at the University of Split School of Medicine and an expert in human genetics, molecular biology, and medical education. She holds a medical degree, a master’s, and a PhD from the University of Zagreb. Since 1992, she has held various academic roles at the University of Split, and previously worked as a physician. Prof. Zemunik has coordinated award-winning research projects and received national and international recognition, including a DAAD fellowship in Germany. Her scientific contributions focus on genomic research in complex traits and diseases. She has supervised numerous graduate and doctoral theses and actively contributes to curriculum development. As a lecturer, she teaches medical biology and genetics in both Croatian and English, across several health-related programs. Within research projects, she typically serves as a principal investigator or senior expert, contributing her experience in biomedical research, project leadership, and academic mentorship.
